As one would expect, the largely Ylthic human population on the Xyrog peninsula commonly worship the Gods of the Ylthic pantheon. However,
from the earliest records of their arrival, the humans in this region worshipped a different group of Ylthic Gods. Some are recognizable
as offshoots of the main pantheon (either stronger or weaker as their popularity supports), while others are unique to the area.
This is reflected in their unique variation of the Origin Story.
When Amun finally awoke, she found herself surrounded by the dark, with only a few spirits left beside her. Her own light was fading.
At this she cried out in despair, "Who will help me, for this is the end of all time." At this, the warrior-spirit Kamas
strode forward, and girding himself for battle said, "I do this because I serve no master, not light nor dark, and by my own
strength will forge my own way, save those whose arm is stronger than mine."
After a battle of six days, Kolya begged for peace, and Kamas had Amun and Kolya sign the Pact. In it, he set himself forever
apart and above the other spirits, for by his might he had saved them all, even Kolya, in the end. Taking but one spirit for
each day of his battle, he seated them to his left and to his right in his castle, where he reigns to this day.
So it is in the Calandesian Countries that the Ylthian pantheon is different form elsewhere, and this is reflected in their
raiding and war-like ways. Kamas is venerated as the head of the pantheon and only Greater God, while several of the more
pacifistic Gods are forgotten and unknown.
With few exceptions, Temples to Kamas are the only ones found in the Calandesian Countries.
Another key aspect of the Calandesian version of the Ylthic pantheon is the inclusion of a God known only in this region. This
God is properly known as Calanecros, and it is the first part of his name that gives this region its common name: the CALANdesian
Countries. Most, worshippers and lay-people alike, simply name him Necros, the Deathbringer.
In most areas, Kolya’s spheres include Death, but in these lands Necros takes on a singular role as God of Death, and is venerated
and feared in this capacity. Whether the worshippers of Necros see him as separate from Kolya completely, or merely revere this one
aspect is unclear. However, it is clear that this sect appeases their God with live human sacrifices, and is feared wherever they
are found, even in their native lands.
Priests of Kolya in the Calandesian Countries refer to the Necros Priests as "death cultists," but do not interfere with
their evil works. Priests of Necros sponsor a fighting order known as the Grave Dancers.
One thing that the Priests of Kolya and Necros do openly agree upon is the topic of Undead. They are seen as having cheated their
respective Gods of their rightful due, and as such are hunted down and killed mercilessly. Obviously other Priesthoods do the same,
but they do it because of the undead’s evil, not because they are still “living”.
